CALLED

Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

A Note from Me: Have you ever been waiting for an important phone call? You know the kind of wait I’m talking about, the kind where you can hardly look away from your phone, almost willing it to ring, so you can finally hear the voice on the other side of the line? Have you ever made a call with news that had to be shared and whispered, “pick up, pick up, pick up” while you wait for the person on the other end to answer? What happens when they don’t answer? Well, if you’re like me, you call right back, again, and again, and again, waiting to FINALLY hear, “Hello?”

We live in a day and age where we are blessed to have the ability to communicate with loved ones, even those who live far away, at our fingertips - all we have to do is pick up the phone and place the call, or vice versa, pick up the phone and answer the call. Whose voice do you long to hear from on the other end of the call? Who do you want to talk to when you get life changing news? Throughout Scripture, we learn of many different people who sought and heard from the Lord - Adam, Noah, Deborah, Jonah, Isaiah, Esther, Samuel, Paul - and we know that God heard them. He answered them. He called them. He set them apart. That same God, dear friend, has called you.

Will you answer?

My prayer for you is that you answer the call. That you pick up. That even if your voice cracks, even if you have to whisper, even if you’ve let it go to voicemail in the past - that you answer the call. That you know just how special it is to hear from your Creator and to know that He has a purpose and a plan for you. I pray for courage and strength and wisdom and that you stand firm in your calling. Answer your call already! - Jers
